In 2009, members of New Orleans Suspects first started jamming together as a pick-up band at a bar called the Maple Leaf in New Orleans. The band called themselves The Unusual Suspects, and its members included Brad Walker (saxophone), CR Gruver (keyboards), Jake Eckert (guitar), Eric Vogel (bass), and Eddie Christmas (drums), all of whom are considered to be among the most experienced and well-respected musicians in New Orleans.
They quickly rose to prominence in the area, and by the summer of 2011, they had decided to pursue a career as full-time musicians and changed the name of their band to New Orleans Suspects. They started drawing large crowds from San Francisco to New York almost immediately. They presently have five full-length albums available for purchase, and they plan to release their sixth album sometime in 2023.
