The Helio Sequence Information
The Helio Sequence is an American indie rock duo. The current lineup of the group consists of Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel. Summers look after the lyrics, guitar, lead vocals for the duo and shares production credits. Weikel was raised in Beaverton, Oregon. He worked there with Summers at some local music store. Both of them formed The Helio Sequence in 1999. The band played its debut show in Portland at the Mount Tabor Theater.
The Helio Sequence has toured the United States and the British band, Keane, during the 2009 season and June 2010. The band toured the United States once again, but this time as co-headliner for Menomena. The band released its debut EP in 1999 entitled Accelerated Slow Motion Cinema.
Other albums released by The Helio Sequence include Com Plex (2000), Young Effectuals (2001), Love and Distance (2004), Keep Your Eyes Ahead (2008), Heliomena “Converter” (2010), Negotiations (2012), and The Helio Sequence (2015).
The Helio Sequence was the band’s self-titled album created after the group revamped its process. They sent 26 songs to their friends, which they wrote, and asked everyone to list their favorite ten songs. The band got successful by the end of June 2014 to compile all the best songs and add them to the album.
