The Dream Syndicate Information
The Dream Syndicate is an American alternative rock band consisting of Jason Victor, Mark Walton, Dennis Duck, and Steve Wynn. Steve Wynn and Kendra Smith met and started playing music in a band named The Suspects at the University of California, Davis. The band featured future True West members Russ Tolman and Gavin Blair. Wynn also released a single in 1981 under the name 15 Minutes with two other musicians from the band Alternate Learning.
After signing with Slash Records, the band's first and most successful album, The Days of Wine and Roses, was released by Ruby Records in 1982. Although the album Days of Wine and Roses "sent shockwaves through the American underground in the early 1980s," the music video network preferred a different genre. The album's lead single, "Tell Me When It's Over," was released in early 1983 by Rough Trade Records as the A-side of a UK EP featuring a live cover of Neil Young's "Mr. Soul."
These Times, the band's second album since reforming, was released via Anti- on May 10, 2019. John Agnello and the Dream Syndicate produced it. Montrose Studios in Richmond, Virginia, was the site of further recording for the album. The Dream Syndicate announced the release of their next studio album, The Universe Inside, on Anti- on February 26, 2019. The album was released on April 10, 2020.
