The Descendents Information
Descendents is an American punk rock band. The current lineup consists of Bill Stevenson, Milo Aukerman, Karl Alvarez, and Stephen Egerton. To start a band, friends Frank Navetta and David Nolte started writing songs on acoustic guitars in 1977.
They went by "The Itch" at first, but Navetta suggested "Descendents" as a better fit. From hardcore songs that lasted less than a minute to punk rock tracks that averaged two or three minutes in length, the Descendents' sound has evolved throughout the years. Their 2020 single "Suffrage" featured the tracks "On You" and "Hindsight 2020" and was available for streaming on many platforms.
The band unveiled their eighth studio album, 9th & Walnut, named after the junction in Long Beach, California, where they initially rehearsed, on May 4, 2021, with the single "Baby Doncha Know" following on May 4. The album was set to be released on July 23, 2021.
Featuring Stevenson, Frank Navetta, and Tony Lombardo in their original lineup, the album was mostly recorded in 2002. Milo Aukerman, who was at home in Delaware during the pandemic, recorded his lead vocals for the album.
