The Claudettes Information
American pop, rock, and blues band The Claudettes. They currently feature Berit Ulseth, Zach Verdoorn, Michael Caskey, and Johnny Iguana in their lineup. Late in 2010, Johnny Iguana established the Claudettes, a rock and roll band that describes itself as "piano boogie, punk blues, and cabaret," and has released four albums despite a constantly shifting lineup. Originally, the group was just Johnny Iguana on piano and Michael Caskey on drums, performing an upbeat, rowdy brand of piano blues.
Oh My God was a rock band in which they both had previously participated. They performed in various settings, including Staples and Buddy Guy's Legends. In 2013, Yellow Dog Records released the debut album by the band Infernal Piano Plot... Hatched an instrumental album. Before recording No Hotel (2015), they were joined by Nigerian-American singer Yana Atim, albeit she only sang a few songs. The Mark Neill–produced album Dance Scandal at the Gymnasium! was released by Yellow Dog Records in March 2018.
Ulseth provided vocals for the more pop-oriented songs, showcasing the band's expansion into the more rock-oriented territory. There were subsequent lineup shifts, with Danny Yost temporarily replacing Matt Torre before Yost left and Michael Caskey returned. Working with Hutt and Kevin Killen, the Claudettes released a string of singles throughout 2022, building up to the October 2022 release of a new album.
