Syleena Johnson (September 2, 1976) is an American television presenter, actress, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Harvey, Illinois. Soultracks.com compiled a list of the top Soul Albums of the 2000s, and Chapter 2: The Voice came in at number 62 on that list. When Kanye West released his debut album, The College Dropout, in 2004, the lead single "All Falls Down" contained vocals by Johnson.
The song "Self Destruction" featured Johnson, KRS-One, Twista, and Crucial Conflict and was released in 2009. For three years, from 2012 to 2014, Johnson was the focus of the TV One reality show R&B Divas: Atlanta. DYG Management is her current agency. In 2013, Johnson and Musiq Soulchild collaborated on an album named 9ine, which was released on September 23.
Twenty-one years after enrolling, in June 2015, Johnson got her bachelor's degree in nutrition science from Drake University. Because of her superior academic performance, she was also invited to join the prestigious Alpha Beta Kappa Society. Johnson may be heard on the album's opening track, "Donda Chant," released in August 2021 as part of Kanye West's tenth studio album, Donda.
