Strand of Oaks Information
Strand of Oaks is a rock project created by the famous American producer and songwriter Timothy Showalter. Showalter is from Indiana, but he resides in Austin with his family. Dealing with rock and folk genres, Strand of Oaks by Showalter is also a perfect blend of folk-rock music. Showalter started to take an interest in organized sports. He wanted to be a basketball player, but his athletic career ended early due to juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Later on, his interest shifted towards music, and he began teaching.
Working on his Strand of Oaks project, Showalter went on a tour and found his wife having an affair. He ended this detrimental relationship and went to Pennsylvania in 2003. His return was horrible to find out that his house was burned down. Spending his nights in hotels and days on park benches, Showalter somehow gained a spirit to write music. Since then, he has released seven albums under the project Strand of Oaks. They are Pope Killdragon (2010), Leave Ruin (2009), Heal (2014), Hard Love (2017), Dark Shores (2012), Eraserland (2019), and In Heaven (2021).
Strand of Oaks appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote the release of Eraserland. Showalter was accompanied by Amanda Shires, Jason Isbell, and My Morning Jacket members Bo Koster, Will Johnson, and Tom Blankenship. They performed the song "Ruby" at the show. In 2014, Strand of Oaks made their television debut by appearing in the famous show named Late Night with Seth Meyers.
