Spirit West Coast Information
SWC stands for Spirit West Coast and is a Christian music festival that showcases various Christian musicians. The event also includes comedy shows, petting zoos, kid-friendly shows, and petting zoos.
In 1995, five families established Spirit West Coast. The event has been held annually since 1997 in Monterey, California. A second event was introduced in Del Mar, California, as time passed. Both of these celebrations occur annually in the summer. Members of the Christian Festival Association, the festivals are spreading the gospel.
A number of the best Christian bands around perform concerts for the crowd. Many well-known Christian artists have contributed to this list, such as Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Delirious?, Chris Tomlin, Tree63, Jeremy Camp, Armour Under Fire, Rebecca St. James, Skillet, the Kry, Toby Mac, Jars of Clay, Larry Norman, and many more.
Spirit West Coast festivals feature some of the world's most well-known Christian authors and speakers. Charles Stanley, Greg Laurie, Luis Palau, Tony Campolo, Frank Peretti, Miles McPherson, Ron Luce, and Louie Giglio are just a few of the speakers that have graced the stage before. Big tents host nightly performances from well-known Christian comedians like Bob Smiley.
One of SWC's main areas of interest is Compassion International. Compassion International sets up a tent to recruit sponsors for their cause of feeding hungry and otherwise disadvantaged children in developing nations. SWC keeps a tally of the sponsorships and makes the growing total public via their public address system.
