Near Tuttlingen, Germany, in June, you may find the Southside Festival, a music festival that happens every year. The alternative subgenre of popular music is often connected with the event, its performers, and its fans. The festival is held in Southern Germany, hence the name Southside. Both FKP Scorpio and KOKO & DTK Entertainment are in charge of organizing the festival.
The four-stage festival takes place on an area of 800,000 square meters that was formerly an airport and military complex. With about 15,000 people in attendance, the festival debuted at the former military airport at Neubiberg (Munich). Passengers increased from 30,000 in 2002 to 60,000 in 2003 and beyond.
The organizers claim that five to ten million euros is the money made during a single festival weekend. Throughout the weekend, about 400 volunteers put in about 12,000 hours of labor. According to the festival's safety code, crowd surfing is forbidden.
