Soulive Information
Soulive is a funk/jazz trio that is known for its catchy, upbeat, and solo songs. The trio originated from Woodstock, New York, in 1999. It consists of Alan Evans (drums), Eric Krasno (guitar), and Neal Evans (Hammond B3 organ, bass keys, clavinet). Soulive originated as a trio, but the members have also worked with different horn sections such as Sam Kininger (saxophone) from 2000 to 2003, Ryan Zoidis (saxophone) from 2003 to 2006, and a few more. The music of the trio is defined as jazz-funk, jazz fusion, soul music, and soul-jazz. Soulive also worked with vocalist Toussaint Yeshua from 2006 to 2007 and toured in the original trio current lineup.
The trio began recording tracks under their current name in the home studio in Woodstock, New York. Get Down! was the first album by Soulive, which was followed by the trio's touring. The first LP by the trio was recorded during their career’s initial summer entitled Turn It Out, for Velour Recordings. The LP featured guest musicians such as John Scofield, Oteil Burbridge, and Sam Kininger. The next year, all three members embarked on five national tours. Soulive opened for Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, Common, John Mayer, The Rolling Stones, and a few more.

Soulive has held an annual two-week, ten-night residency at the Brooklyn Bowl which started in 2010. The show runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
