Snotty Nose Rez Kids is a First Nations Canadian hip-hop duo. The current lineup of the duo consists of Quinton “Yung Trybez” Nyce and Darren “Young D” Metz. They were born and raised in Kitamaat Village, British Columbia, and now live in Vancouver. The Average Savage, their 2017 album, was nominated for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize and the Juno Awards for Indigenous Music Album of the Year at the 2019 Juno Awards.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids were nominated for the Indigenous Music Awards’ Best Hip Hop Album and the Western Canadian Music Awards’ Indigenous Artist of the Year in 2018. TRAPLINE, their third album, was released on May 10, 2019, and was later nominated for the Polaris Music Prize 2019.
They joined Jarrett Martineau’s RPM Records in May 2018 and released the new tune “The Warriors,” a protest song opposing the Trans Mountain Pipeline. Snotty Nose Rez Kids chose to leave RPM after a brief time and release their next album on their own. TRAPLINE, their third album, was released on May 10, 2019. Life After, the duo’s fourth album, was released in 2021. Notable hit singles released by Snotty Nose Rez Kids include “The Warriors,” “Creator Made and Animal,” and “Real Deadly.”
