Skip Marley Information
Skip Marley (June 4, 1996) is a Jamaican singer. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Under the Tuff Gong label, he dropped his debut single, "Cry to Me," in 2015, followed by "Life" the following year. Afterward, he joined his uncles Damian and Stephen on their Catch a Fire tour after signing with Blue Mountain Music. He appeared in a Gap 1969 Denim ad campaign at the beginning of 2016. Marley's deal with Island Records was announced at the beginning of 2017.
The single "Lions," produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh and released in February 2017 on Island Records, marked Marley's first release as a label member. Live for Now, a short film advertisement for Pepsi, famously included "Lions." Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm," released in 2017, features him and was co-written by him. On February 12, 2017, at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, and again on February 22, 2017, at the 2017 Brit Awards, the two performed the song.
On March 5, 2017, they also took the stage to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. On April 28, 2017, Marley dropped the track "Calm Down." Some School of Rock students in the year 2020 performed a cover of "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley. Higher Place, Marley's first EP, was released on August 28. Previously released singles "Slow Down," "No Love," and "Make Me Feel," all starring Rick Ross and Ari Lennox, are featured on the album.
