Shelea Information
Shelea Frazier (also known as Shelea) is an American singer, pianist, and songwriter. She was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. Shelea is best-known for her 2014 track entitled “I’ll Never Let You Go,” which peaked at number 23 on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart. Stevie Wonder has been her mentor, although she started singing and playing the piano while she was a child. Shelea listened to Natalie Cole’s album, “Unforgettable…with Love,” which enhanced her desire to become a singer.
From 2003 to 2006, Shelea co-wrote and performed the theme songs for the UPN television sitcom named, All of Us. She began her professional career by working with producers Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam. She sang lead on “Someone to Watch Over Me” in 2008, at the request of Take 6, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. She gained prominence in 2012 when she posted a YouTube video that went viral, singing a medley of Whitney Houston covers.
In 2013, Shelea released her debut album entitled “Love Fell On Me.” “I’ll Never Let You Go” is the main track of this album. She released another album in 2019 entitled “Pretty World: A Tribute to Allen & Marilyn Bergman.” The album included Kirk Whalum and Stevie Wonder. She has also appeared in the 2020 biopic of Clark Sisters named The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel. Shelea played the character of Dorinda Clark-Cole. Her other notable singles include “I’m Sure It’s You” and “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life.”
