Sharon Cuneta Information
Sharon Cuneta (January 6, 1966) is a Filipina television host, actress, and singer. Cuneta listened to her father's record collection as a child. Elaine Gamboa, Sha-Sha's mother, studied piano at the UST Conservatory of Music when she was a student there. As a result, Sha-Sha was exposed to various musical styles and techniques from an early age.
Cuneta began accompanying her famous Aunt Helen Gamboa to television tapings when she was three. Twelve-year-old Sharon Gamboa Cuneta first visited the Vicor Records store at 782 Aurora Boulevard in January 1978.
After her uncle, Vicor's vice president, asked her to record a song called "Tawag Ng Pag-Ibig" at Vicor, she made her television debut promoting the song on TVJ's Discorama. After that, in May of 1978, Sharon Cuneta released "Mr. DJ," a cover of a song by Rey Valera. Her producer in Vicor, Tito Sotto, requested that Valera create a track that would entice radio DJs to play her album on the air.
