Los Lobos Information
Los Lobos (Spanish for "The wolves") is an American rock band which is based in East Los Angeles, California. It was founded in the year 1973, with the name "Los Lobos del Este" (Spanish for 'The wolves of the East'), but the name was later shortened to its current form. The current band members include David Hidalgo, Louie Perez, Cesar Rosas, Conrad Lozano, Steve Berlin, and Enrique Gonzalez.
Their music is influenced by Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, folk, R&B, blues, brown-eyed soul, and traditional music such as boleros and nortenos. Los Lobos achieved international stardom in 1987 when "La Bamba" topped the charts in U.K, U.S, and several other countries.
The band released several notable albums, some of which are 'By the Light of the Moon' (1987), 'La Pistola y El Corazón' (1988), 'Kiko' (1992), and 'This Time' (1999). Their live albums include 'Live at the Fillmore' (2005), 'Acoustic en Vivo' (2005), and 'Discounted in New York' (2013).
Los Lobos did several compilations and extended plays, which were "Wolf Tracks: The Best of Los Lobos," "El Cancionero Mas y Mas," "Just Another Band From East L.A," and "Ride this - The Covers EP." The group's singles were a significant hit and provided them with quick success. Some of the famous singles of Los Lobos were, "La Lamba," "Donna," "Bertha," "Reva's House," "Shakin' Shakin' Shakes," "Will the Wolf Survive," and "Kiko and the Lavender Moon."
