Shannon Mcnally Information
Shannon Maureen McNally (March 17, 1973) is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in Hempstead, New York. She started singing and playing guitar in small clubs while attending Franklin & Marshall College to study anthropology. After graduating and developing her craft as a busker on the streets of Paris, she signed a deal with Capitol Records in 1997. Jim Keltner, Greg Leisz, and James Gadson helped her record Jukebox Sparrows (Capitol, 2002), her self-titled debut album.
McNally performed as Stevie Nicks and Ryan Adams' opening act in the interim and joined Tara MacLean, Kendall Payne, and Amy Correia on the 1999 Girl's Room tour. She also served as a model for Urban Decay makeup. She released the EP Bolder Than Paradise in 2000. When Capitol released Jukebox Sparrows in January 2002, the market had already accepted artists with a rootsy vibe like Ryan Adams and the soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou.
A tribute album to Bobby Charles' songs, Small Town Talk, was released by McNally in 2013. According to McNally, who has known Charles for a long time, Charles' 1973 debut album served as an inspiration for her album. The famous Dr. John and I collaborated on the album's music.
