Shannen Moser is an independent singer-songwriter who hails from Berks County, Pennsylvania. Her music has a rustic feel to it and features flowing vocal lines. She relocated to Philadelphia in 2014 to participate in the city's vibrant music culture. She is a self-taught guitarist and, by that point, a songwriter out of habit. Her debut album, All Dogs Go to Heaven, released later in 2014, contained brief DIY confections that reflected the folk and country music of her adolescence.
2015's You Shouldn't Be Doing That provided another batch of her rough-hewn, melancholy tunes, with only one song exceeding the two-minute mark. Eric Muth recorded and mixed Moser's third album, Oh, My Heart, which featured a cleaner, more spacious sound without changing her approach. It was initially released in January 2017, and Lame-O Records gave it a multi-format release that spring.
