Sea Hear Now Festival Information
Sea Hear Now, often known as SHN, hosts a professional surfing competition in addition to music, art, and ocean sustainability activities. The event takes place at Asbury Park, New Jersey, on an annual basis. It is organized by p people such as rock photographer Danny Clinch, HM Wollman, Tim Donnelly, and Tim Sweetwood of C3 Presents. It takes place in September on the beach and boardwalk.
After the festival's official closing time, SHN is well-known for its late-night local performances at several Asbury Park live music venues, including The Saint, Asbury Lanes, The Stone Pony, House of Independents, and Wonder Bar.
In 2018, The Pop Break, a digital magazine covering popular culture, voted the event the best new music festival of the year. The first festival took place in September 2018. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the 2020 festival was moved to 2021.
The event in 2022 took place on September 17 and 18. Pro surfers Cory Lopez, Cassidy McClain, Sam Hammer, and Eric Geiselman, among others, participated in the 2022 festival. The surfers also participated and enjoyed the "North Beach Rumble," a team surfing competition.
The Killers, Waiting on Mongo, and Alexander Simone Whodat? appeared at the most recent 2023 SHN on September 16 and 17. Some other notable names who performed at the event are Cage the Elephant, The Head and the Heart, Idles, Annie DiRusso, Aly & Aj, The Surfrajettes, and Dogs In A Pile, among many others.
