To say that Scotty Austin isn't your typical rock star would be an understatement. An impressive resume of performances across the United States and his ability to play in various musical styles attest to his originality as a composer. His passion for music and instruments sparked early in Parsons, Tennessee, where he learned to read music in kindergarten and played in the family church band.
By the late '90s, Austin had begun to broaden his musical horizons, exploring new styles, including percussion and classical guitar playing, on his way to becoming the season-long leader of the official NASCAR Rolling Thunder band. In the 2000s, he represented Memphis, Tennessee, at the International Blues Contest, placing fourth overall.
A new original group and recording artist named Ash Bowers, Jason Aldean's Broken Bow Records, and its sister company, Stoney Creek Records, teamed with Austin shortly after. It was only a short time before Austin formed Trash the Brand, an indie rock band of his creation. He wanted to record and perform the songs he'd composed but has yet to have the opportunity to perform live.
