Saratoga Jazz Festival is defined as a creative space where members are encouraged to share information on their favorite artists and music from jazz to Latin, funk, blues, and beyond. The purpose of this festival is to enrich and expand the jazz community. Saratoga Jazz Festival was founded in 1978 by jazz impresario George Wein. It is stated to be one of the most prestigious and iconic jazz festivals in North America.
The festival has an inside capacity of 5,200 and lawn seating reaching 20,000. The two-day, two-stage festival is a favorite of audiences for both the remarkable annual line-up of international jazz talent as well as the spectacular setting of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
Some of the notable artists who have, or will be, taking the stage include premier vocalist Cassandra Wilson, award-winning Issac Delgado & His Afro-Cuban Big Band, blues master Taj Mahal, Brazilian vocalist and pianist Eliane Elias, centennial celebrations of Charlie Parker and Dave Brubeck, and jazz prodigy Matthew Whitaker.
