Ruido Fest Information
Ruido Fest is a Latin American multi-day music festival held in Chicago, Illinois. Every July, the festival is held in Chicago’s Near West Side neighborhood Addams/Medill Park. Ruido Fest features music from various genres such as punk, reggae, tropicalia, psychedelia, rock, hip-hop, electronic, Latin post-punk acts from all around the American continent and globe. The festival is the only Latin alternative music festival in Chicago that lasts three days. The word Ruido is taken from Ruido, meaning “noise.”
In 2015, Ruido Fest was founded by a team of partners including Latin alternative music promoter Rock Sin Anestesia, Star Events, alternative music festival Riot Fest Presents, and Chicago production company Metronome Chicago. The festival is the largest Latin American alternative music festival in the United States. Max Wager, the owner of Metronome Chicago, said that they were seeking to create a destination for Latin alternative music for the people of Chicago and others who love Latin entertainment.
The lineup of the first Ruido Fest included Chicano Batman, Master Blaster Sound System, Los Románticos De Zacatecas, Los Rakas, Los Crema Paraíso, Los Aguas, La Vida Boheme, La Armada, Kali Uchis, Jessy Bulbo, Hurakan, Essol Afrojam Funk Beat, Dos Santos Anti-Beat Orchestra, DJ Afro, Descartes A Kant, Division Minuscula, Dellarge, Cumbia Machin, Ceci Bastida, Carmen Coasta, Cardiel, Callate Mark, Bumbac Joe, Banda De Turistas, Astro, Aj Davila & Terror Amor, Porter Estelares, Enjambre, Mexican Institute of Sound, and a few more.
