Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever is an Australian indie rock band. The current lineup consists of Joe Russo (bass guitar), Marcel Tussie (drums and percussion), Joe White (harmonica, lead guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Torn Russo (guitar and vocals), and Fran Keaney (acoustic guitar and vocals). In 2013, three guitarists—cousins Fran Keaney and Joe White and longstanding friend and musical collaborator Tom Russo—got together in Melbourne, Australia, to form a Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever band.
Soon after, Fran Keaney's roommate Marcel Tussie joined the band on drums, while Tom Russo's brother Joe Russo joined on bass. In 2016, they had their first EP, Talk Tight, released by Ivy League Records. The French Press, their second EP, was produced by Doug Boehm and published by Sub Pop in 2017.
They appeared at the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival on January 29, 2018, and Sub Pop released their first full-length album, Hope Downs, on June 15, 2018. In 2020, they released Sideways To New Italy on Sub Pop, their second album with the label. Throughout its history, the band has been nominated for several prestigious honors, including the Air Award, Australian Music Prize, J Award, Music Victoria Award, and National Live Music Award.
