Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter born in Ijegun-Egba, Alimosho, Lagos State. Okorie is better known by his stage name “Patoranking.” He began his official music career by carrying out some underground collaborations with various artists such as Reggie Rockstone, Slam, Konga, and XProject.
In 2010, Patrick signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records and released “Up in D Club." He became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song entitled “Alubarika.” In February 2014, Patoranking signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released a single named “Girlie O," which launched him in the limelight. He later signed a distribution deal with VP Records.
Patoranking has made several guest appearances since he initiated his music career which includes Baba (2010), Oju Kan (Remix) (2011), Judah (2014), Early MoMo (2014), In Da Club (2014), Another One (2014), Want Some More (2014), Bosi Kpa Kpa (2014), Left for Good (2015), Another Day (2015), No Lie (2015), and For My Matter (Remix) (2016). His notable studio albums include God over Everything (2016) and Wilmer (2019).
Patoranking has won several awards throughout his career including Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for African Artiste of the Year (2015), MTV Africa Music Awards for Best New Act (2015), TooXlusive Online Music Awards for Best Afropop Song (2015), City People Entertainment Awards for Dancehall/Reggae Act of the Year (2014), and countless other nominations.
