Their roots are in the Passion movement, and they want to help people experience God more deeply and worship in new ways. Passion 2020 brought in the new decade at Atlanta, Georgia's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 65,000 people worldwide. Beautifully documented in the live songs and movies, this proclamation of the name and power of Jesus will go down as a watershed moment in the annals of Passion.
Passion has existed since its inception in 1995 to glorify God by uniting students in prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation, as stated in Isaiah 26:8: "Yes Lord, walking in the road of Your truth we wait expectantly for You." Passion's attendees come prepared to believe that worship and social justice are inextricably linked.
They donate to the END IT Movement, which works to eradicate modern slavery. This year, Passion asked students to support Share Light, an initiative to translate the Bible into all 6,000 living languages before the next generation dies. Millions of students and young adults (18–25) have come into contact with Passion; they are people whose lives have been changed by the Holy Spirit.
