The Oklahoma craft beer festival, which showcases over 80 brewers and approximately 400 beers on tap, is the state's most popular destination in the beer world. The event's focus is on Oklahoma breweries and beer manufacturers, with some coming from outside the state and others from around the country.
Oklahoma's first beers were from the Choctaw tribe, with a long Native American history. Now known as Choc Beer, this beer was created in 1894 by blending the following ingredients: hardly, hops, tobacco, and a trace amount of alcohol. Surprisingly, this was the first and only time Oklahoma beer was mentioned.
In 2018, Oklahoma switched from 3.2 percent beer to stronger Oklahoma craft beer, resulting in a beer shortage in several places. While attempting to make the transition from light to heavier beer as seamless as possible, they began selling out faster than they could put beer on the shelf, resulting in an Oklahoma beer shortage.
