Nati Ninet Tayeb (October 21, 1983) is an Israeli musician, DJ, model, singer-songwriter, composer, and actress. She is commonly known as Ninet and is from Kiryat Gat, Israel. Ninet served as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces’ Combat Engineering Corps. She was brought up around the music with the help of small event performances as a teenager. Her major influences were Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Oasis, and Pearl Jam. Ninet is considered one most of the most famous people in the Israeli entertainment industry. She was also labeled “one of the hottest new artists to break into the United States.” Along with her successful music career, she has also enjoyed a successful acting career, performing in scripted series, movies, and even theatre.
Ninet started her official career by collaborating and performing with Israel’s most popular artists at 20. Soon she became the subject of dozens of articles and stories in Israel. “Barefoot” was the debut album by Ninet, which was released on September 7, 2006. The album received platinum certification in less than 24 hours, released by Helicon. At the same time, Ninet acting career began to rise as well. She starred in a successful TV series based on her own life story, Hashir Shelanu (“Our Song”).
Some notable studio albums by Ninet are Communicative 2009, Sympathetic Nervous System 2012, All the Animals Knew 2013, and Paper Parachute 2017. Her first role in theatre was as Wendla, the Israeli production of Spring Awakening. Ninet completed her first high-profile international tour in the U.S, Europe, and Canada in 2016. She was also a guest vocalist on Steven Wilson’s tour.
Ninet earned first place in Sounds and Voices 2001 and Kokhav Nolad 2003. She also won two MTV Europe Music Awards along with many nominations.
