Nick Warren Information
Nick Warren (October 24, 1968) is an English record producer and DJ. He was born in Bristol, England. Warren met producer Jody Wisternoff in 1994 while working at a record store. Their debut joint effort was the song "Paradise is the Sound," released under the alias Sub-Version 3. Warren calls Wisternoff the more technical partner, but he also brings "most of the sounds into our projects" and knows what makes music popular in nightclubs.
Echo was the moniker used for their next two albums, with the Way Out West remix album being their last offering. Soon after, the two musicians began performing under the moniker and signed with Deconstruction Records. When Warren was in his mid-20s, he became a regular at the Liverpool nightclub Cream, where he played for several years. Warren was entrusted with mixing the sequel when the Global Underground album series was just two entries in. Live performances by Warren were recorded in Prague and released under the title Global Underground 003: Prague.
Despite the number, this was just Global Underground's second release. Deconstruction, which BMG later acquired, dropped Way Out West in December 2000 because the label was pessimistic about the commercial success of Way Out West's record.
