Natalia Lafourcade Information
Maria Natalia Lafourcade Silva (February 26, 1984) is a Mexican folk singer and songwriter born in Mexico City, Mexico. Lafourcade listened to her mother teach her music while she was a child, and she would imitate performers like Garibaldi and Gloria Trevi. Not only would Julieta Venegas and Ely Guerra impact her, but so would Fiona Apple, Björk, and Café Tacvba. Her mom developed the Macarsi Method—a framework for music education and professional growth—after completing graduate work in musical pedagogy with a focus on the piano.
Volume 2 of Lafourcade's Un canto para México series was formally released on May 28, 2021. The original release date was May 28, 2020. The Veracruz Cultural Center was likewise rebuilt with the help of the proceeds. Poet Citlali Aguilera Lira and Lafourcade's visit to Mexico's oldest winery, Hacienda San Lorenzo in Parras, Coahuila, inspired the song "Tierra querida." On June 17, 2022, the song was made public.
Released on October 28, 2022, De Todas las Flores was Lafourcade's first studio album in seven years that featured only original compositions. On top of that, on October 27, 2022, she had the album's premiere at Carnegie Hall. Guitarist Marc Ribot, bassist Sebastian Steinberg, and drummer Cyril Atef were all band members, and Adán Jodorowsky produced the record.
