Moon Taxi Information
Moon Taxi is an indie-alternative rock band in Nashville, Tennessee, and founded in 2006. The current lineup of the group consists of Trevor Terndrup (vocals and guitar), Wes Bailey (keys), Tyler Ritter (drums), Spencer Thompson (guitar programming), and Tommy Putnam (bass). The band was founded when the future members were attending Belmont University. Moon Taxi has released several studio albums since its conception.
Moon Taxi has appeared on many popular shows so far, such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, Late Night with Seth Myers, and The Late Show with David Letterman. The band has also been included on the Firefly music festival bills, Summerfest, Beale Street, Forecastle, Hangout, and Coachella. Moon Taxi released its debut studio album entitled “Melodica” in 2007, categorized as jam rock. Some of the hit singles included in the album are “Here to Stay” and “Gimme a Light.”
Moon Taxi recorded a live album in August 2008 entitled “Live Ride.” It was recorded from a performance at 12th and Porter in Nashville. The live album release brought more festival appearances for the band, such as Wakarusa in Ozark, Arkansas in 2011, and The Hangout Music and Arts Festival (Gulf Shores, Alabama) in 2010 and 2011.
Moon Taxi has worked with a few record labels, including 12th South Records and RCA Records. The band’s other notable studio albums include Live Ride (February 10, 2009), Cabaret (February 7, 2012), Mountains Beaches Cities (September 10, 2013), Daybreaker (October 2, 2015), and Let the Record Play (January 19, 2018).
