Leland Tyler Wayne (September 16, 1993) is an American DJ, record executive, and producer. He is professionally known by his stage name, Metro Boomin. St. Louis, Missouri, is the place of his birth. Wayne produced the song "Tuesday" by iLoveMakonnen and Drake, which peaked at number 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and brought him widespread recognition.
After "Bad and Boujee" by Migos hit number one, Wayne produced two more top-20 singles in the United States: "Low Life" by Future featuring The Weeknd and "Jumpman" by Drake and Future. Then came "Heartless" by The Weeknd, followed by "Congratulations" by Post Malone, "Mask Off" by Future, "Tunnel Vision" by Kodak Black, "Bank Account" by 21, and his second U.S. number one.
Wayne has released the collaborations Savage Mode (2016) and Savage Mode II (2020) with 21 Savage, DropTopWop (2017) with Gucci Mane, Perfect Timing (2017) with Nav, and Double or Nothing (2017) with Big Sean. Wayne's studio albums, Not All Heroes Wear Capes (2018) and Heroes & Villains (2022), entered the Billboard 200 at the top spot in their respective years.
The latter gave rise to "Creepin," featuring The Weeknd and 21 Savage, which charted highly globally and peaked at three on the Billboard Hot 100 to become Metro Boomin's highest-charting U.S. single to date.
