Max Creek Information
Max Creek is a rock band that was formed in 1971. The group's current lineup consists of Scott Murawski (guitar, vocals), Mark Mercier (keyboards, vocals), John Rider (bass, vocals), Bill Carbone (drums), and Jaime Murrell Stanley (drums). The founding members of the band were Bob Gosselin, John Rider, and Dave Reed. Since its inception, the group holds a strong and loyal fan base. They also organize an annual music festival at Indian Lookout Country Club in upstate New York.
When the group began their official career, they would rehearse in the basement of the Rider's fraternity in Hartford. Later, they moved to a band house in Feeding Hills. The band recently celebrated its 40th anniversary in Costa Rica with Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead.
Max Creek has been one of the favorite bands of Mike Gordon, a bassist of the popular band Phish. The group's live show often last three or more hours. In the 1990s, the band members cut back touring to concentrate on their personal lives; however, now they continue to play a handful of shows each year.
Max Creek has worked with a few record labels, including One Of Nineteen Records, Relix Records, Telefunken Records, and Wrangler Records. Their notable studio albums include Max Creek (1977), Rainbow (1980), Drink the Stars (1982), Windows (1986), MCMXC (1990), Spring Water (1998), Live At The Connecticut Expo Center (2000), 45 & Live (2019), and Live At The Stafford Palace Theater, Acoustic (2020).
