Matt ORee Band Information
Matt O'Ree (February 26, 1972) is an American blues-rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was born in Holmdel, New Jersey. In 1994, he assembled a trio consisting of himself, a bass player, and a drummer to play covers and originals with a blues influence. After adding keyboardist Eric Safka in 2008, the Matt O'Ree Band expanded from a trio to a quartet. The new lineup of the band inspired a stylistic shift in their music.
After that, O'Ree and his group set out on a world tour. He has a song on his live album titled "Big Jenna," about the homemade tour van he and his band use to travel around. The Matt O'Ree band opened for Joe Grushecky and Bruce Springsteen at The Paramount Theater's Light of Day Foundations main stage in 2014. They also performed "Smoke On The Water" as part of their set.
The Matt O'Ree Band played a sold-out gig at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on October 30, 2015, to celebrate O'Ree's return from his tour with Bon Jovi. Local musicians, reporters, and promoters joined their followers in the crowd. David Bryan took the lead vocals on a cover of "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi, which he performed with his band.
