Massive Attack Information
Massive Attack is an English trip-hop collective founded in 1988 in Bristol by Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles, and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. Right now the group comprises Del Naja, Thaws, and Marshall. Released in 1991, Blue Lines is the first Mass Attack album. Reaching the top of the charts, the single "Unfinished Sympathy" was ranked 63rd-greatest song on an NME survey.
On the UK Albums Chart, 1998's Mezzanine (with the top 10 song "Teardrop") and 2003's 100th Window topped one another. Rolling Stone lists Blue Lines and Mezzanine among the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Among Mass Attack's honors are two Q Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and a Brit Award for Best British Dance Act. Having put out five studio albums with sales of over 13 million copies globally,
On June 5, 2024, the band performed their first gig in five years in Gothenburg, Sweden. They were accompanied by special guests Elizabeth Fraser, Horace Andy, and Young Fathers, who had toured with the band throughout their summer European shows.
