The Mexican band Los Cardenales de Nuevo León plays traditional norteo music and is from Monterrey in the state of Nuevo León. In 1982, they began making music as what would become one of the most influential norteo bands ever. Latin Grammys, Billboard, oyE!, Furia Musical honors, and even a Gold Star from the governor of Nayarit in 2008 for Don Chayo are just a few of the many accolades that their label, hislabelyou, has earned.
Their debut album, Los Cardenales de Nuevo León, was released in 1984 on the BMG label (now Sony) and featured the hit song "El Cachas de Oro." Ten years later, on the album "they take off their hats," they re-recorded the song for the first time under the Disa label.
In 1989, they released their third album, which featured songs like "Amor de Unas Horas," "La Pera Madura," and "Y Como Es Él?" by José Luis Perales, and for its success, they were awarded a gold record by Top Hit Records. Their second album, which included the hit "La Chuyita," was recorded in 1988 and is no longer available from the label.
