Los Angeles Azules Information
Los Ángeles Azules is a Mexican musical group. The band plays cumbia sonidera, which incorporates accordion and synthesizers. This mixes 1950s-1970s cumbia with 1990s-style electronic music. The group was formed in 1976 but formally began in 1980. Elas, Alfredo, José Hilario, Jorge, Cristina, and Guadalupe Mejia Avante were the siblings who founded it.
The band has many styles and is popular among the fans. They succeeded with Cómo Te Voy an Olvidar in 1997 and re-recorded several classics with guest vocalists, including Carla Morrison, Lila Downs, and Ximena Sariñana in 2013. They introduced cumbia sinfónica in 2014 while performing their biggest hits with the Mexico City Symphony Orchestra. Their next album, Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar Edición de Súper Lujo, ranked No. 5 on the Mexican regional music charts.
De Plaza En Plaza (2016) comprises duets with Gloria Trevi, Yuri, Natalia Lafourcade, and Miguel Bosé. The first single from the album was "La Cumbia del Infinito," featuring Natalia Lafourcade and Rodrigo & Gabriela, released on June 3, 2016.
The album was published through OCESA Seitrack in June 2018. Esto Sí Es Cumbia is a compilation of cover songs.
They were the first traditional cumbia ensemble to perform on the Coachella Stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018.
