Lissie Information
Elisabeth Corrin Maurus (November 21, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter known professionally as Lissie. She was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, and spent two years at Colorado State University (Fort Collins). Her music is defined as folk, rock, and country. Lissie was involved in music and singing from a very young age. At the age of 9, she played the lead role of the musical Annie. During her time at Colorado State University, Lissie used to open for musicians visiting the city.
Lissie produced a four-song EP in 2007, which received some airplay on Morning Becomes Eclectic by KRCW. The next year, she was invited by Lenny Kravitz to open for his Love Revolution Tour. “The Longest Road” was a hit song which she co-wrote with DJ Morgan Page. In November 2009, Lissie released another EP entitled Why You Runnin’. Bill Reynolds of Band of Horses produced the EP. She toured many venues in the UK during early 2010, supporting the famous Ohio-born singer-songwriter Joshua Radin.
Catching a Tiger was the debut album by Lissie, which came out on June 21, 2010. The two hit singles included in the album are “When I’m Alone” and “In Sleep.” Some of her other notable studio albums are Back to Forever (2013), My Wild West (2016), and Castles (2018). Lissie earned three awards in 2010, including 2 Paste magazine awards and one iTunes (UK) award.
