LFO Information
LFO was an American pop and hip-hop band. The lineup consisted of Devin Lima, Brian Gillis, Brad Fischetti, and Rich Cronin. Rich Cronin and Brad Fischetti first crossed paths with Brian "Brizz" Gillis in 1995 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. If I Can't Have You, a song LFO covered by Yvonne Elliman, only cracked the Top 40 and peaked at No. 54 on the UK Singles Chart. They made a rendition of the 1990 New Kids on the Block hit song "Step By Step" and released it as a single in 1997.
The group's lack of advancement infuriated Gillis in 1999, so he quit to pursue a solo career. This led to many college tours and employment in the music business, including a radio promotion role with BMG in Florida. With "Summer Girls" and "Girl on TV" reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard 100, their debut album, LFO, sold more than 2.5 million copies globally. The song "Summer Girls" sold over 1.5 million copies across the US and was nominated for a Billboard Music Award in 1999 for Top Selling Single of the Year.
After 15 years, LFO released "Perfect 10," their first brand-new song, in July 2017. It featured Lima and Fischetti, who were still alive at the time. Brad Fischetti, the band's last surviving member, started a run of gigs with the pop group O-Town during the Y2K tour. In remembrance of Rich and Devin, he sang LFO songs and promised to uphold the band's legacy.
