Leftover Salmon Information
Leftover Salmon is a jam band that began in Boulder, Colorado. The band was formed back in 1989. The group came into its existence when members of the Salmon Heads, Gerry Cavagnaro, Dave Dorian, and Vince Herman, combined with members of the Left-Hand String Band, Glenn Keefe, and Drew Emmitt. They collaborated to play a New Year’s Eve show in 1989, which was held in Crested Butte at the Eldo. As they all were going to play together, they decided the name for this drive for the show, as Leftover Salmon. This combine performance worked so well, and it resulted in permanent Leftover Salmon.
The big three of the Leftover Salmon was Vince Hermann, Mark Vann, and Drew Emmitt. The rest of the lineup was not so consistent as they went through many changes over time, but these three remained constant. In 1993, the band released its independent album “Bridges to Bert.” After this release and live follow-up in 1995 called “Ask the Fish,” Leftover Salmon toured with the H.O.R.D.E festival. They also signed a record deal with Hollywood Records that was one of their career breakthroughs.
Leftover Salmon’s Hollywood debut album named Euphoria defined their electric sound to the vast majority. The band released four albums with the Disney owned label. After the success of Euphoria, Leftover Salmon kept releasing other albums in sequence such as The Nashville Sessions (1999), Live (2002), Leftover Salmon (2004), Aquatic Hitchhiker (2012), High Country (2015), 25 (2016), Something Higher (2018). The band has so far worked with big labels, including Whirled Beets, Bert, Hollywood, Los Records, Compass, and Compendia.
