Kevin Krauter is an American musician, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer currently based in Indiana. Krauter is also known as the founding member of the indie-pop group called “Hoops.” He formed the band along with his school friends James Harris, Keagan Beresford, and Drew Auscherman. Kevin was in the band until their hiatus was announced in 2018.
Krauter’s band, Hoops, released three tapes, two albums, and one extended play. All of them were released before the band announced their hiatus in 2018. In the same year, Krauter released his solo studio album entitled “Toss Up.” It was followed by a second studio album released in 2020 entitled “Full Hand.” He has worked with only a few record labels throughout his careers, including Bayonet Records and Winspear.
Krauter has toured as a solo artist since the hiatus of Hoops. He usually tours with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Marias, Hovvdy, Soccer Mommy, Beach Fossils, and Triathalon. He has also contributed a song to “Bernie Speaks with the Community,” a benefit compilation that was produced to raise money for the Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign.
