Kenny Wayne Shepherd (June 12, 1977) was known by his birth name Kenny Wayne Brobst. He is from Shreveport, Louisiana. Shepherd is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His music style is generally described as blues-rock, rock, hard rock, roots rock, and blues. He graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport and is "completely self-taught." He never learned music and began playing guitar at the age of seven. At the age of 13, Bryan Lee invited Shepherd to play guitar onstage.
Shepherd's first performance was at the Red River Revel Arts Festival (Shreveport). This performance brought ample contracts and record deals towards him. In 1995, seven singles by Shepherd hit Top 10 on the Billboard Blues Charts. A few of the other hit singles by him that hit the top of the charts are; “The trouble Is...”, "Blue on Black," "Born with a Broken Heart," "Everything Is Broken," and a few more.
Some of the full-length studio albums released by Kenny Wayne Shepherd are Ledbetter Heights, Live On 1999, The Place You were In 2004, 10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads 2007, How I Go 2011, Goin' Home 2014, Lay It On Down 2017, The Traveler 2019, and a few more. He also released an EP entitled King's Highway EP on October 7, 1997. Live! in Chicago is a Live Album, which was released on September 27, 2010.
Shepherd successfully performed live at several events among which, a few hit ones are; 2019 tours along with Buddy Guy, a double-headliner tour in Summer 2015 with Jonny Lang, appearances as a musical guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, opening act for The Rolling Stones during 1999 No Security Tour, and the list goes on.
