Kelly Hoppenjans, a singer-songwriter from Nashville, writes rousing rock that blends riot grrrl fervor with folky reflection. Can't Get the Dark Out, her new EP is a serious exploration of love, destiny, and escaping destructive patterns and follows her 2019 full-length debut, OK, I Feel Better Now. The EP was partially motivated by Hoppenjans' experiences falling in love during the pandemic, including dealing with online dating, isolation, and the stress of imminent life changes.
