Keb Mo Information
Kevin Roosevelt Moore (October 3, 1951) is an American blues musician and eight-time Grammy Award winner. He is professionally known as Keb' Mo'. As a young musician, Keb' Mo' started in a calypso band, playing steel drums. After that, he spent the '70s and '80s playing in various blues and backup bands. In the early 1970s, he began recording as a member of an R&B group alongside Papa John Creach, the violinist of the Jefferson Airplane.
Keb' Mo' and Taj Mahal collaborated on a TajMo album, released on May 5, 2017. Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh, Sheila E., and Lizz Wright are among the special guests on the album, which has six original songs and five cover versions by singers and bands such as The Who and John Mayer. The album was named Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
Oklahoma, Keb' Mo's studio album, was released in June 2019. It features guest appearances by Taj Mahal, Rosanne Cash, Jaci Velasquez, Robert Randolph, and his wife, Robbie Brooks Moore, as well as a duet with Taj. After Keb' Mo's June 2019 Glastonbury performance, the band continued their 2019 tour in July across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Keb' Mo' was a featured performer at the 2019 induction and concert at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. The 2020 Grammy for "Best Americana Album" went to Oklahoma, which Keb' Mo recorded'. He stood out among the many notable performers at India's Mahindra Blues Festival in 2020.
