Justin Osborne (1987) is a songwriter, singer, and storyteller from Charleston, South Carolina. Osborne has been writing songs since he was 14. He has been touring for 15 years and has released ten studio albums thus far. He used to sneak time with his late grandfather’s parlor guitar, which was forbidden for him to use. Osborne played several bands throughout high school, military school, and college.
After years of self-management, self-booking, and relentless grind, Osborne played a farewell show with his then-band and decided to move to Cuba. According to Osborne, he was walking away from the music for good. When he relocated to Havana to study abroad, the Cuban musicians and artists he befriended had something else cooking for him. Six months later, Osborne returned to the States, re-energized, and recorded SUSTO’s first album. It was a self-titled debut album. Followed by an acclaimed sophomore album entitled & I’m Fine Today.
Since I Lost My Mind was another masterpiece by Osborne. He often loses his mind on stage, breaks down, and cries. Remembering his grandad’s guitar, all the bands he had been in, and seeing his fans responding to and connecting with the songs fills his heart. A few of the other notable albums he released under SUSTO are EP Hearts & Plugs 7s, Vol 1 (2015), and EP SUSTO Stories (2018).
