Julieta Venegas Information
Julieta Venegas Percevault (November 24, 1970) is a Mexican-American pop-rock indie singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist born in Long Beach, California. Tijuana No!, a Mexican ska band, was one of several she went on to play with. Acoustic guitar, accordion, and piano are just a few of the seventeen instruments that Venegas can play.
Her first album, Aquí, was published in 1997 and received positive reviews from Mexican rock fans. International critics lauded her subsequent album, Bueninvento (2000), which Gustavo Santaolalla again produced. Rolling Stone ranked it as the third finest album in the history of Spanish Rock.
Her move to Buenos Aires in 2017 coincided with her stage acting debut in Santiago Loza's La Enamorada, and her 2019 album of the same name included songs inspired by the play.
She has reportedly sold 10 million albums globally. In addition to the 100 honors she has won during her career, she has won eight Latin Grammys, seven MTV awards, seven Broadcast Music, Inc. awards, five VEVO Certified, three Oye! awards, and two Billboard Music honors.
