Julien Baker Information
Julien Rose Baker (September 29, 1995) is an American singer and guitarist specializing in indie rock. Her songs openly examine themes like human nature, addiction, mental illness, and Christianity and are known for their confessional lyrical approach and gloomy tone. Although she was a Middle Tennessee State University student when she published her debut album Sprained Ankle (2015), Baker was nevertheless.
After that, Baker joined Matador Records and, in 2017, released Turn Out the Lights, her second studio album, which was also highly acclaimed. Little Oblivions(2021), Baker's third studio album, included a full band for the first time and debuted in the top 40 of the Billboard 200. Along with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, Baker forms the indie ensemble Boygenius and performs alone.
The group's debut EP with the same name was released in October 2018. The Record, Boygenius's first studio album, was released in March 2023, following the announcement of their reunion in January of that year. The Rest, their most recent album, came out in October 2023. The track "Thick Skull" (Re: Julien Baker) from Baker's 2023 album Re: This Is Why—a remix of Paramore's This Is Why—was published in October of that year.
