Jatavia Shakara Johnson (December 3, 1992), known by the stage moniker JT, is an American rapper. She started her solo career in 2023 after forming the hip-hop duo City Girls with Yung Miami from Miami, Florida, in 2017. Her co-performance on Summer Walker's 2021 song "Ex for a Reason" landed in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 and became her first solo act chart entry. Her 2024 single "Okay" peaked on the chart at number 72.
JT announced her 14-show solo tour on March 9, 2024, beginning on March 23 in Houston, Texas, and finishing on April 27 in Kansas City, Missouri. JT debuted her solo mixtape, City Cinderella, on March 24, 2024. JT and Doechii released their joint track "Alter Ego" on March 29, 2024. Later, JT hinted at a little of her single "Okay" on tour, which became popular on social media.
April 26 saw the "Okay" premiere. As of its release on May 7, 2024, "Okay" was JT's first solo single to reach the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at position No. 74. Three days later, an expanded form including an additional stanza was published to honor this and create further buzz about City Cinderella. JT debuted a remix of "Okay" with a Jeezy verse on June 28, 2024. Released on July 19, 2024, was City Cinderella.
