JR JR Information
JR JR is an American indie pop band based in Detroit, Michigan. The group's current lineup consists of Bryan Pope, Jon Visger, Mike Higgins, Joshua Epstein, and Daniel Zott. While playing in previous Detroit music ventures, Zott and Epstein met. In late 2009, they founded Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and began recording in Zott's basement in Royal Oak, Michigan, with no plans to release anything to the public. Their initial name was proposed to them as a joke, and it was derived from NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Quite Scientific Records released the band's Horsepower EP in July 2010. "Nothing But Our Love," "Simple Girl," "Vocal Chords," and a rendition of Brian Wilson's "God Only Knows" were included on the Horsepower EP. On November 2, 2010, the band released their second EP, "My Love Is Easy: Remixes Pt.1," through Quite Scientific Records.
On April 2, 2013, JR JR released their single "If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)." Patterns, their EP, was released after the release of the single. The band debuted tracks from their album live on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on May 16, 2013.
"If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)," "Hiding," "Dark Water," and "Habits" comprise the Patterns EP, which was published on April 16, 2013. On October 8, 2013, JR JR released their second studio album, The Speed of Things, with Paul Simon's help.
