Jowell y Randy Information
Jowell & Randy is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo. The current lineup of the group consists of Randy Ortiz and Joel Munos. The duo was founded in 2002, and since then, they have been playing actively throughout the world. The duo became the first-ever reggaeton acts that were performed in the Principality of Monaco. Both members Jowell and Randy met each other at the former’s house during a friends reunion. They both met for the first time there. Jowell invited Randy to record at his studio as he admired Randy’s single ability.
Jowell & Randy signed a record deal with Diamond Music in 2002. In 2006, the duo released their first single entitled “Agresivo.” The single featured their fellow rapper, Arcangel. On December 18, Jowell & Randy released its debut studio album entitled, Los Más Sueltos del Reggaetón. On January 19, 2008, the album reached number 42 on Top Latin Albums and 21 on Heatseeker Albums. On March 15, 2008, the duo’s first single, “Agresivo,” reached number 35 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.
On May 4, 2010, Jowell & Randy released its second studio album entitled El Momento. The album was released under WY and White Lion. The album reached number 112 on the Billboard 200 in the United States and number 2 on Top Latin Albums. The duo’s other studio albums include Sobredoxis (2013) and Viva el Perreo (2020). The duo has done a few tours as well, including Doxiland USA Tour (2015), Sobredoxis World Tour (2013-2014), and El Momento World Tour (2010-2011).
