Joey Yung (June 16, 1980) is a Cantopop diva and singer from Hong Kong contracted to Emperor Entertainment Group. Joey Yung was born at Tsuen Wan's Yan Chai Hospital on June 16, 1980. He has one brother. Her ancestors originated in Xinhui, Guangdong. She was a sixth-grader at Ma On Shan Lutheran Primary School, where she was a classmate of Wong Cho-lam. Priscilla Wong, a Hong Kong actress, went to the same school.
In 1998, Yung signed with Fitto Entertainment, a Hong Kong record label acquired by Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) in 1999. She was transferred abroad for training in 1999 and began taking singing lessons from Teresa Carpio and the late Roman Tam, whom she accompanied on concert tours to gain performing experience.
Yung's debut compilation album, Love Joey, was the best-selling album in 2001 and was followed by two Cantonese albums, All Summer Holiday and Solemn on Stage. H2O+ 'Solemn on Stage' Joey Yung Live in Concert 2001 at the Hong Kong Coliseum was her second live concert and first concert series in November. With the publication of Honestly, her first Mandarin album, she began her singing career in Taiwan.
The Hong Kong Coliseum hosted Joey Yung's eighteenth "Pretty Crazy Joey Yung Concert Tour" on August 24. Nicholas Tse, Ekin Cheng, Jeff Chang, Louis Koo, Kenny Kwan, The Grasshopper, Julian Cheung, Leo Ku, Hacken Lee, Andy Lau, Leon Lai Ming, Jacky Cheung, JJ Lin, and others were among the guests during Joey Yung's show.
