Jackson Browne Information
Clyde Jackson Browne is an American political activist, singer, and songwriter born in Heidelberg, Germany. Browne was inspired by his songwriting success to record his debut album under his name in 1972, which featured the Top 40 hits "Doctor, My Eyes" and "Rock Me on the Water." In the years after the release of his debut album, Browne formed a close working relationship with The Section. This prolific session band had previously collaborated with several other well-known singer-songwriters.
The first single off his fifteenth studio album, "A Little Soon to Say," was released by Browne in March 2020. The album's title tune, "Downhill from Everywhere," was released as a single the following month. Originally scheduled for his 72nd birthday on October 9, 2020, the release of Downhill from Everywhere was rescheduled to July 23, 2021.
A 2020 U.S. tour co-headlined by James Taylor and originally slated for 2020 was rescheduled to the summer of 2021 because of the pandemic. With the help of fellow singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, Browne reworked her song "Kyoto" in March 2021 for a Spotify-only release. Downhill from Everywhere is Browne's fifteenth studio album, released on July 23, 2021, via Inside Recordings.
